OOTN: 18th Birthday Party

Last night I made my way to a 18th birthday party, hosted by one of the girls I did an art course with over the summer. The dress code was casual, but knowing me, I had to get out my heals. I look for any excuse to whip out a pair of heals because I'm only 5'1 after all! I thought this outfit worked well because the dress was quite formal but the over-sized cardigan really toned it down. And the heals weren't very dramatic either,  being black wedges. I threw on some of my staple jewelery and hoped for the best! The party was great fun and I met loads of lovely people. Success!

My makeup was quite dramatic with a deep red lip, dark brown eyes, bold brows, winged liner and dramatic lashes. I thought the makeup tied in relatively well with my outfit (I hope!)

Review: Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Wash and Scrub

I was so excited to use these products! I had done mountains of research, read countless reviews so I was all set to be blown away. The packaging was gorgeous and they smelled wonderful! These was going to be the products that were to save my skin. Literally. I have acne, not terrible acne but enough for me to be on medication for so I expected Neutrogena to work for me. The wash and scrub were under €6 each.

But no, I found Neutrogena's Pink Grapefruit Wash wash to be TERRIBLE! It did absolutely nothing for my skin, if anything, my skin got worse over the course of me using Pink Grapefruit wash. My skin didn't feel clean after using it and I hated the way it didn't lather. I was shocked because this wash was supposed to be designed for acne. Obviously not. I would not recommend this wash to people with acne as it just doesn't work. However, I think Neutrogena's Pink Grapefruit wash would be perfect for those blessed without problem skin.
I would give the wash 1/5 stars because it did nothing for my skin.

In contrast to the wash, I found the Pink Grapefruit Scrub to be quite good! It made my skin tingle after I washed it (in a good way!) and dare I say, it cleared a few of my breakouts. It didn't dry my skin out so long as I gave it a light moisturize after which is excellent for a scrub. It's gentle enough to use twice a day but I'd go for once a day to ensure you don't strip your skin of all its natural oils. I'm not sure if I will be repurchasing it, but at the extremely reasonable price of €6, I'm tempted.
I would give Neutrogenas scrub 3/5 stars because it worked well with my skin and cleared several breakouts.

If anyone knows any drugstore face washes for acne let me know in the comments!

OOTD

I went to see Harry Potter for the second time today with my friends. I know, I'm a very sad person seeing it twice within three days but to be perfectly honest I don't care! I just love it so much and now that it's over I feel like a part of me is missing....and I'm not joking!

I also had my animation portfolio preparation course today which I don't really like. I suppose at least now I know I defiantly want to do fashion and not animation!

Review: Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions

Rating: 5/10
Product info: cleansing foam 125ml
                      clarifying lotion 200ml
                      clearing moisturizer
Price: around €70

When I first got this product 7 months ago it took about 3 months for the results to kick in. It wasn't until February before I saw a reduction in the amount of breakouts I was getting. I must say, I was very disappointed with this as I was using the system religiously twice a day. I was expecting my skin to breakout free once several months had past, but no! Even when I started seeing results they weren't drastic enough for my liking. Now 7 months later, I'm currently breakout free as of the past month (touch wood!)

To be honest I don't even think this is as a result of the Clinique system as I have recently improved my diet and have been drinking about 3 litres of water a day.

However, my skin does feel very clean after I've completed the system and it has reduced the amount of blackheads I have (which I'm delighted about!) I do think this has been the best product I've used to reduce my blackheads because I've tried every drugstore product I could get my hands on to get rid of those pesky dots and none of them have reduced my blackheads like Clinique!

I'm not going to be repurchasing these products again because I think there must be drugstore ones better for a third of the price!

Pros: reduced my blackheads, leaves my skin feeling clean, good for maintaining clear skin.

Cons: the price, was very slow to see results, results weren't great.

my summer makeup routine :)

OOTD

so today I went to see Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2. Lets just say it was mind blowing to say the least and it was a very intense emotional roller coaster. I cried well over five times! Wow what a movie.
Anyway I just went for my 'signiture look' today which consisted of high waisted shorts, a crop top, my booties and of course my beloved knit cardigan.
